Detect and Stop Counterfeits

Over the past years, numerous replicas, counterfeits, and fake detectors have entered the market. Many manufacturers falsely claim their products are “Made in Germany” and originate from OKM Detectors, while in fact producing inexpensive imitations that do not meet the required standards and fail to perform reliably.

OKM is committed to combating counterfeit products to ensure that our customers receive only original OKM detectors of the highest quality and reliability.

How to Identify a Fake OKM Detector

Counterfeit detectors may look similar – but they don’t perform like the original. Here’s how you can tell the difference, point by point.

1. Serial Number

What to check:

This image shows a genuine OKM serial number label. It includes the correct OKM logo, company address, phone number, and a unique serial number – all key features of an authentic detector.
Fake software

2. Material Quality

What to check:

Every original OKM detector is built to meet the highest German engineering standards – with clean layouts, durable materials, and quality-tested components.
Fake software
This counterfeit detector shows poor construction: loose wires, a crudely inserted circuit board, and zero quality control. Do not trust devices like this.

3. Packaging

What to check:

Original OKM Peli Case
Official OKM transport case: waterproof, shock-resistant, and custom-fitted for each detector. Comes with official branding and secure closures.
Fake packaging
Counterfeit soft bag falsely labeled “OKM” – not used or produced by OKM.

4. Software and Interface

5. Authorized Dealer and Pricing
