Quick Scan Check: What's the difference between Measuring Value and Scan Value?

What You’ll Learn
✅ How to analyze 3D Ground Scans
✅ What the Scan Information section reveals
Experienced Visualizer 3D Studio users often ask for deeper insights into scan interpretation — including the meaning of Measuring Value and Scan Value. The “Scan Information” panel provides key data that helps users understand how signals are recorded and evaluated.
Measuring Values represent the total number of impulses, or scan points, collected during a scan. For example, a scan with 7 lines and 115 impulses per line results in 805 Measuring Values. To pinpoint the exact location of a signal, users can reference the displayed impulse number and scan line.
The Scan Value, on the other hand, indicates the intensity of the signal recorded at each specific scan point. Large variations between these values – clearly visible in the side view – are strong indicators of a significant anomaly. Switching between views in Visualizer 3D Studio helps users analyze signals more precisely and navigate the crosshairs with ease.
